Caithness Radio Club

Friends of the North Highland Way started off as a community project under the auspices of the Dunnet Head Educational Trust, now closed.  We worked with many community groups, including the Caithness Radio Club, the Caithness Riding Club and Caithness Pony Club and Caithness at War. We continue to work with community groups and organisations who wish to be recognised here.

Castletown is becoming quite a hub, with walks, the post office “stamps” the passport to the North Highland Way, and the Castlehill Heritage Centre, which has great talks. The walking group meet every Wednesday outside the Drill Hall in Castletown at 10.30am.

Borgie Forest – the Friends support the North Sutherland Forestry Trust. We regularly receive their newsletters.

We also recommend the Thurso Community Cafe

We also support the NHS through the magazine here.

We network with a number of climate change groups, are members of the Scottish Outdoor Access Network, Scottish Association of Marine Science, and the Moray Firth Coastal Partnership. We also do beach cleans for the Marine Conservation Society.
